| A Brief History |
|
Vineyard Community Church of La Habra was originally planted as Calvary Chapel Whittier in 1977 by John McClure and Bob Oliver. It later became a Vineyard Christian Fellowship in 1982. In 1984, John McClure, who was the Senior Pastor, left to take over the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Newport Beach. Bob Oliver then became the Senior Pastor and served in this capacity until 2004 when he moved to Arlington, Texas to pastor Grace Vineyard.
Bobby DeLancellotti was then hired on in 2005 to take on the role of Senior Pastor and left in 2007 to pursue ministry in the Central Coast of California. It was in 2007, that the name of the Church was officially changed from Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Whittier/La Habra to Vineyard Community Church of La Habra. (Commonly refered to as Vineyard La Habra or VCC La Habra.) At present, the Church is led by a Leadership Team, comprised of the Elders and Staff.
VCC La Habra has met in various locations over the years including the Los Angeles Chiropractic College, The Ritz banquet facility and Sonora High School (which is adjacent to our current facility). It was in 1992, that the church occupied it's current location in the Lambert Palm Business Center in La Habra, CA. In spite of the various changes in location, leadership and even names, this body of believers has remained a welcoming and caring church, full of people that love God, their neighbors and their world. We also don’t forget to have fun while we’re doing that!
Vineyard Community Church of La Habra is a part of the Association of Vineyard Churches, a movement with over 1500 churches worldwide. More information on the Vineyard movement, as well as our Statement of Faith, can be found at the Vineyard USA Website.
